Compassionate. Effective. Transformative.
Many people come to therapy seeking relief from painful symptoms, relationship issues and self-defeating patterns. They may feel alone and isolated in their suffering. I work to create a safe, respectful and supportive environment that alleviates aloneness and facilitates connection, healing and positive change.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon and I love what I do. I have extensive training and over 17 years of experience providing long- and short-term psychotherapy, emergency psychiatric evaluation/intervention, medical social work, and psychosocial support to those impacted by traumatic loss and community violence. I have worked at all levels of mental health care and as a medical social worker in a variety of hospital-based and clinic settings.
Therapy with me is collaborative, relational, body & emotion-oriented, and experiential - often attending to what is arising in the present moment during session. My style is actively engaged, warm, supportive and forthright. My clients achieve more than just symptom relief - they also grow in their capacity to feel safe and connected with others, and more secure in themselves. Typically, this results in enjoying improved self-esteem, positive shifts in identity and a greater sense of fulfillment in life.
It is brave to reach out, to not go it alone. And asking for help reflects a powerful, natural drive to heal and grow. I look forward to us doing this work together.
